The Ultimate List of Baby & Toddler Sleep Essentials

Sleep from babyhood through toddlerhood can feel… unpredictable. Just when you think you’ve found your rhythm, everything changes—short naps become early wakeups, sleep regressions pop up, routines shift, and somehow bedtime starts stretching into an Olympic event. The good news? You don’t need a perfectly scheduled baby—or a house full of gadgets—to support healthy sleep habits. Creating a calm, consistent sleep environment and having a few products that truly work can make a huge difference over time. These are the sleep essentials I personally couldn’t live without for helping establish healthy sleep routines and making nights feel more manageable. And most of them (with the exception of our bassinet, swaddles, and crib for my oldest) are still part of our everyday routine with my 2- and 4-year-olds—who both sleep 11–13 hours each night.
