These are the essential products that helped bring comfort and calm during a challenging stage. I’ve shared them in a simple, easy-to-navigate list to support parents who may be in the same place.

A bedside bassinet made newborn sleep and overnight feeds much easier. Keeping baby close allowed for quicker soothing and helped minimize full wake-ups during the night. I like this one because it's cost effective, portable, and on wheels.
I preferred the carrier option as I didn't quite have the patience for the wrap, and could never get it to feel supportive enough. But I daydream about the days where I wore my newborn babies (for both naps and awake time), in my kitchen making bread, going on walks, or doing chores like laundry, dishes, etc. It helped me feel so much more productive while still providing care and closeness for my baby.
If your baby is napping in a crib or bassinet in a different room, a monitor is a necessity. I highly recommend investing in a good quality one that you can use throughout toddlerhood as well! This one has the option to buy 1 camera, and add additional cameras which came in handy for baby #2, so I could watch both on the same (giant!) monitor.
4. Velcro Swaddles
Swaddling helped reduce the startle reflex and supported better newborn sleep. These zipper bottom swaddle wraps were especially helpful for quick diaper changes without waking baby.
A dim night light with a simple tap and dimmer functions made nighttime diaper changes and feeds calmer. The warm-toned lighting helped avoid overstimulation and supported better nighttime sleep routines. Great for travel too!
6. Infant Lounger (Supervised Use Only)
We used an infant lounger for supervised naps and calm awake time during the day. Portable so you can bring it around the house with you! This is a cost effective version of the one we had.
A white noise machine was one of our most effective baby sleep tools. It created a consistent sleep environment, masked household noise, and helped improve both naps and nighttime sleep.
8. Pacifiers
Both of my babies were paci babies and they used them into toddlerhood. These were the only ones both of them would use. I know there's a lot of opinions about pacifiers but they truly helped our children soothe and were super helpful in stressful, fussy awake times (especially in public!) and self soothing during the night. Just remember, there are different sizes for different ages.
9. Arms Up Sleep Sack (for Babies That Don't Like Swaddles)
Some babies just don’t love being swaddled and prefer their arms up! My son was like this and would break out of EVERY swaddle. This arms up sleep sack was the perfect solution and instantly changed his sleep once he was more comfortable.
10. Portable White Noise Machine
A portable sound machine helped maintain familiar sleep cues during travel, stroller naps, and on-the-go sleep, making newborn naps more consistent outside the home. Easy to charge, with an adjustable ring to hang on strollers, backpacks, car seats, etc.
